My Story

I have been engaged since January and am getting married March 19, 2011. I intentionally wanted about a year-long engagement because I knew I would be indecisive, and I have learned that it is okay. My fiancee had the ring for 6 months before he proposed! I thought he was going to propose Christmas of 2009 but he found out I was expecting it, and waited. I was frustrated at the time but I was glad he waited. One January night, me an my best friend, Asa, were hanging out and it started snowing! He went outside for a while and then brought me outside and covered my eyes. He had written, "Marry Me Kala" in the snow. I guess I didn't have the option since he didn't ask, he sorta told me to marry him! So far this wedding planning process has been long, but fun for the most part. I have learned a lot of ways to do things cheaper and easier. I have bought two wedding dresses ( I decided against my first one), changed flower plans about 7 times, and am still working on my flower plans currently! I hope my experiences with my wedding planning can help you. I get so frustrated when I hear one florist tell me that white orchids cost $9 per stem while green orchids cost $80 per stem, then another florist told me that there is no cost difference in the color of orchids! There have been a lot of things mixed up and  I have done lots of hunting and researching for finding the best possible deals without sacrificing "beauty."
